create-talorys 0.1.7 deployed to a free Cloudflare account in about 28 seconds on Node 22.23.4 with Wrangler 4.149.0. Real chat (Chinese first token 0.7s / 3.9s total; English 0.44s / 1.4s), login and reminders worked. Hard requirements: Node 22+, API token instead of OAuth on remote hosts, five token scopes (not a Global Key), and a writable Wrangler cache—our first failure looked like a missing Cloudflare permission and was EACCES on node_modules/.cache/wrangler. Free Workers AI: 10,000 Neurons/day; our four calls used ~99 Neurons (~300 short chats/day at measured overhead). Local npm run dev also works (~8s install, ~30s boot) with CSRF header x-talorys-request: 1.

Embodied AI had an awkward week. Money is retreating: according to 36Kr, funding for Chinese embodied-intelligence start-ups fell by roughly 40% month on month in September, and some advisers have stopped taking such deals. Yet valuations at the top keep climbing; Bloomberg reports that Physical Intelligence, which has no revenue, is negotiating at least $1bn at close to $20bn. Capital has not left the room; it has moved to fewer seats. Unitree's first quarterly report as a listed company showed revenue up 70% and adjusted profit down 17%, the price of pivoting from hardware to models. AgiBot, claiming 9,700 units shipped in the first half and a 43% global share, proposed a new yardstick, the "Worken": active robots times autonomous hours times output efficiency. It amounts to selling labour hours rather than machines. That shift changes revenue (from one-off to recurring), data (every paid hour is training data) and scrutiny (idle robots log zero hours). Two problems remain. Capability lags the story: the best frontier model scored about 37% on a physics-graded engineering benchmark. And security lags deployment: researchers showed an eval() flaw in a voice assistant could make a humanoid throw a punch. The survivors will be those with measurable use cases, cash to outlast the winter, and security built in from the start.
